Beautiful Thanksgiving Tables

I am getting so excited for Thanksgiving this year, it will be the second Thanksgiving that we will be staying at home for.  It will probably just be my hubby, little man and I as our families can't make it down here.  Even though it is just the three of us I like it to be a special day of family, feast and football!  I am loving these table scapes and they are giving me inspiration for our table, and the challenge is going to be making ours look just as great with what we already have.  The little man was picking up tons of acorns from our lawn the other day and I though about throwing them back into the yard when we were done, but I brought them in and I think they'll find a way onto our table.

Gorgeous Family Rooms

It's FALL {I know I have already mentioned this a time or two} and this means in the upcoming months we will be spending lots more time indoors.  I absolutely love the thought of sitting in my warm house next to the fire with a hot cup of joe watching the brisk morning air outside.  What better way to do this than in one of these charming rooms?

The ottoman in this room is amazing and look at that bamboo mirror!  This living room has such sophistication and yet still feels like you could kick up your feet.  Not to mention that my "mommy mind" {not sure that is a real term, but it feels real to me} goes straight to how safe that ottoman would be around the baby.  It's got me thinking how I can accomplish this.

I love each and every  one of these rooms for different reasons.  Don't they just make you want to stay there forever?

The Changing Colors of Fall

We just got back from vacation in Colorado where there was a lack of modern technology happening.  To be honest I really didn't mind it as we were out enjoying mother nature and family (however, I can't wait to catch up to what I've missed on my favorite blogs).  Hopefully I can make it up to you by sharing some great pictures that I took while driving through the mountains in Estes Park and taking in the changing colors.

Growing up we would spend countless weekends at my Great Grandma's cabin in Estes.  We would make a trip to The Taffy Shop that first day to stock up on the best salt water taffy.  You can still watch the taffy being made in the shop window.

This is the Stanley Hotel where the movie The Shining was filmed.  I might have to figure out how to work this one into the house before Halloween ;)

Here is one with the aspen trees changing color.

We stayed with my in-laws who live on a few acres of land and I couldn't help but take some photos of their place.  It was such a relaxing trip, and hopefully I get to see some leaves changing colors here at home soon!

The rare photo of the hubby and I since one of us is usually behind the lens.  Have a great rest of your weekend, I will be unpacking ;)

I've Got That Fall Feeling

I LOVE Fall, everything about it.  I think it evokes this sense of family for me, the beginning of the holiday season and sitting with your loved ones around a warm fire.  The first Thanksgiving that we lived in Dallas I wanted a fire so bad and it was about 75 degrees outside.  My parents were visiting and my Dad went to the store and got firewood, but we had to have all of the windows open to let the hot air escape.

This year I finally had an excuse to drag my husband to the pumpkin patch (YAY for babies!).  Now we'll see if we can do the same for Christmas.

Anytime of year I like to drive around different neighborhoods and get inspiration.  This time of year is one of my favorites, you can find me driving 10 mph just starring at peoples front porches.

The wreath is made out of small pumpkins!

This room doesn't necessarily scream fall, but the colors and the overall feel of the room are autumnal to me (and I just love it).

I just love the art work.  The top shelf says "trick" while the bottom shelf says "treat".  What a great and cost effective idea!

How about this idea for Halloween entertaining?
......and because he is so darn cute, I'll leave you with another photo of my pride and joy!
